The silly season brings festive cheer to most people. Even the grinchiest of grinches will
eventually don a santa hat and partake in some egg nog goodness, whether it's at the office Christmas party, or with the family, or at a New Years Eve bash.
Thanks to the rise of digital cameras, the photographic evidence of any drunked silliness is more readily available, and shared on Facebook and Flickr and all the other social networking sites.

So just because you're enjoying the holiday season, don't assume that recruiters and businesses are too. This is your reminder to keep your online profiles consistent over Christmas and New Year if you don't want your festive antics to jeopardise your future job success.
Check your online profiles over the late December / start of January period, and type your name into search engines to
so that you know what information is visible to the 'general public.' Both active and passive candidates can take
simple steps to prepare appropriate responses if necessary (if you've already applied for a job and the evidence is already 'out there') or limit access (Facebook privacy laws have quite literally
just changed (
again!), and remove pictures altogether if you think you could be adversely
affected.
