Blog posts, news sites and social networking services will appear in search engine results a few seconds after its publication, Google announced today. The announcement of the company that will provide faster access to the torrent of data "real-time comes two months after the agreement entered into for the data of Twitter.
Microsoft, however, came earlier in the game, since it offers access to "live" data from Facebook and Twitter, since October.
Google revealed on Monday how the new search results will work in a presentation near the company headquarters in California. The company used as an example a search for the name Barack Obama; the results page will have a box with what's new about the American president, with news, blog posts and messages from Twitter.
On the left side of the screen, the user can choose how recently would be the effects, even over the last 60 seconds. However, the new function will not be immediately available to everyone, and will be released gradually after Google upgrades their data centres worldwide.
Melissa Mayer, the vice president product search and user experience at Google, stated that posts to MySpace and Facebook will be available "live" in the browser from early next year. She did not reveal, however, if the agreements with the social networking services included any financial agreements.
Google also presented their new voice search feature (in the Japanese language), for mobile devices running Android, as well as the new Google Goggles, which allows users to seek information for products, objects and monuments, just by photographing them with their mobile.
