Normally we at 4MAT celebrate Pancake Day in
Brick Lane, watching the race there, but since a
Crepe Affaire opened in Spitalfields Market, we got teams together and participated in the race there!
Adding to part of our
Corporate Social Responsibility project, we donated money for
Barnado's Children's Charity, and tossed those pancakes as quickly as possible!
With a crowd to cheer us on, we set up 2 teams - Sotos, James W and Johnny, versus Andy, Anna and myself.
As I'm sure you can imagine, it was a gruelling race. We're all fiercely competitive, so there was some serious heckling going on in an effort to put the other team off.
We had to wait a few days to find out if either of our teams had won overall, but finally, we learned that we did indeed, rock the pancake-tossing world. Our prize (apart from the knowledge that we were all very talented with a frying pan) was a week's worth of free pancakes, courtesy of Vincent and his team at Crepe Affaire.
So we ran, tossed, and ate! Looking forward to next year's competition already!
