Human Contact Remains Important!

TouchWith the progression from shop-window to online presence, I worry that recruiters are forgetting about the Personal Touch. The human element remains crucial despite this technologically-dependent socio-economic transition.

Due to the recession, recruitment agencies are being inundated with candidate CVs. This is not news, unless you have been living on a desert island for the past six months (Tom Hanks & Wilson, I am talking to you!) Now is not the time to forget that first impressions last forever. Candidate relationship management is now more important than ever, as more potential clients are hitting your site than when the economy was stable!

Unfortunately and unsurprisingly, I've heard of applicants not receiving any sort of contact, even one as simple as being sent a reply. In an time when employer brand is touted as Everything, this is potentially damaging!

The digital age is here, and that's great - but let's not forget that people need people contact. It's the way we were built!

I totally agree! It doesnt take many bad user experiences to massively damage a companies reputation. By maintaining high standards and good personal contact, you can build up a large number of current and previous candidates all with a positive impression and lasting memory that won’t hesitate to recommend your company to their colleagues and friends or use you again in the future.
