It would seem that Google Maps has quite successfully wormed its way into our collective psyche. Google Maps markers are starting to appear on streets... for real.
What is quite obviously a very shrewed publicity stunt for the Google Maps product (who said Google don't do any marketing?) plaques and large representations of markers are appearing outside locations that have been flagged as "Favourite Places".
