Next month will see a new media fusion of print and digital media with the first video adverts to appear in a US magazine. This development has become possible due to the increasing sophistication of flat screen LCD displays and the ability for small batteries to power such devices for a longer period of time. (Read more about it on the BBC).
Technology aside, the really interesting part here is the lengths that advertisers are willing to go to in an effort to capture the eye of their target market. Such new and cutting edge technology certainly won’t come cheap but given the buzz surrounding the development, the first advertisers will certainly be drawing a lot of consumer and media attention to their brands.
Although this hasn’t reached the UK yet, we can be confident such developments in the fusion of traditionally separate media streams will continue, as more and more companies seek a unique “edge” in their respective marketplaces. Here at 4MAT we are fascinated by all kinds of technological advances and how successful methods of promoting businesses are changing and evolving in this digital age.
Perhaps print videos adverts are just a novelty for now, but being receptive to new ways of marketing is something that 4MAT prides ourselves on and is certainly something all companies need to consider if they want to succeed in whatever field they operate in.
