Debate on the Rise of Corporate Recruitment

4MAT kicked off the year by inviting recruitment industry leaders to engage in a round table debate to discuss the opportunities and threats that are posed by the rise of corporate recruitment.

Set over lunch at Prism Bar and Brasserie in the City of London, the day featured special guest speakers Jeff Grout a 4MAT Business Consultant specialising in leadership and recruitment and Isabelle Hung the Head of Resourcing and Graduate Programs at Harrods.  With extensive experience at Monster Worldwide, Yell and in her current position, Isabelle delivered a fascinating insight in to the hire strategies of large corporates who are consistently working to increase direct hiring and reduce agency fees.

With big names in recruitment such as The FiveTen GroupPFJ and The Rethink Group in attendance the event was a huge success. Guests engaged in a lively debate on how evolving trends in corporate hiring posed potential problems to recruitment agencies, but also considerable opportunity. Indeed those present left the event re-assured that there will always be a place for agencies despite recent investment in direct hire strategies.

One guest stated that they “left feeling more positive about the future for specialist recruiters” and “found the debate invigorating and the company stimulating.”

The event’s host James Saunders, Managing Director of 4MAT, said “Isabelle and Jeff provided a provocative and informative view into corporate recruitment strategies that fuelled an incredibly constructive debate.  I am delighted that the event was deemed a resounding success for the second year running.”
