Q. My company focuses on the same market as some of your existing clients. How do you ensure that I will maintain competitive advantage?

Q. What technology do you build your web sites in?
4MAT uses Microsoft technology and we are a Microsoft Certified Partner (MCP). This means that we follow Microsoft’s recommended web development process and our software is audited each year to enable us to retain our Partner status.
Our most recent sites utilise ASP.NET 2.0, ASP.NET 3.5 and SQL 2005. We also use HTML, Flash, JavaScript and XML. System services are deployed as web applications or web services built using c#.
Q. Do you implement “ethical” search engine optimisation techniques?
All of 4MAT’s search engine optimisation techniques are in line with industry standard, best practise techniques. We do not employ search engine “spamming” techniques of any kind.

4MAT’s marketing team will work with you closely on an ongoing basis to ensure your website is performing to the best of its ability. You’ll receive the right reporting for you to measure the advantage that 4MAT SEO brings to your company. We will also ensure you fully understand our work and as a “value add”, that you are learning about SEO along the way. Every 4MAT SEO consultant genuinely believes in doing their best work for the client.
Q. One of your clients is number 1 in Google for a phrase that I would like my company to be number 1 for. If we worked with you, how would deal with this conflict of interest?
Whether you choose 4MAT or another digital marketing consultancy, there will always be competitive phrases to achieve. Your SEO consultant will advise you, impartially, on how to achieve your goals by explaining how SEO works and how a search engine ranks a page.
Q. Do you integrate with recruitment software products?
4MAT support over 150 recruitment consultancy clients. If a 4MAT client doesn’t already use your preferred recruitment software package then it probably doesn’t exist!
Aside from our considerable experience in integrating with all the major packages, 4MAT solutions are developed using open architecture and we design specific devises to facilitate the exchange of data between the web site and recruitment software.
We also make it our job to maintain close working relationships with all the leading players in the recruitment software market.
Q. Can you enable vacancy posting from multiple posting tools such as Broadbean, Conkers or Job Mate?
The majority of 4MAT clients use a multiple posting tool to post to the job boards and many also use it to post to their own web site as well. Allowing this is quick and easy and an inherent part of our product design.
Q. Are you iProfile compatible?
We have approximately 20 clients that utilise The Skillsmarket’s iProfile product. There are varying levels of integration with iProfile that clients may opt for, all of which have been discussed in detail with The Skillsmarket.
Q. Can you allow candidate CVs processed through the site to be parsed using CV parsing technology such as Burning Glass or Daxtra?
Yes. CVs processed via the web site can be sent directly to the CV parsing software, or alternatively via a human to evaluate the candidate’s quality.
Q. Do I own the Intellectual Property to the whole web site?
4MAT clients own the intellectual property (IP) to their web site designs, site content, data, as well as any specific innovation that has been agreed separately as unique to them.
The IP of 4MAT’s core products resides with 4MAT. It is the very essence of our business, as the MS Office suite is a core part of Microsoft’s business. We provide clients with a perpetual licence to use the product in much the same way as Microsoft grant a perpetual licence to use their Office suite of products.
If another web design company offers you the full IP of the site you should check carefully that they mean what they say. “Exclusive Rights” means that the company cannot re-use any aspect of your source, not a single line of code, on any another web site.
Furthermore there are considerable advantages to clients in utilising a common code platform in terms of reliability and future support. 4MAT are unashamedly proud of our product-based approach.
Q. Where would you host my web site?
4MAT have a secure server farm located in London’s Docklands where 95% of its client sites are located.
Q. Could I host my web site external to 4MAT?
Yes of course you can, as long as 4MAT can continue to provide the high levels of support that we provide to sites that are hosted within our own environment.
However there are lots of advantages to having a “one stop shop” for all matters related to web site support.
Q. Can my external SEO consultant work on a 4MAT built website?
4MAT have a great in house Digital Marketing team however we understand that some clients might already have an external agency. dotVacancy has specific modules that allow SEO consultants with all the tools required to market the site to search engines.
Q: I already have a website but would be interested in using 4MAT for my digital marketing is this possible?
4MAT’s digital marketing team would be happy to help you achieve your objectives. We would consult on how to make your website search engine friendly, provide advice on search engine algorithms and work with you on a long term strategy to achieve the correct type of traffic.
Q: Are you called 4MAT because you always use the same format for your websites?
Definitely not! When we are designing a website for a new client, or upgrading the design of an existing client's website, we treat every company with the individual attention that they deserve. We refuse to roll out templated "one size fits all" sites, because we recognise that each company has different and unique requirements.
We focus on usability and functionality when offering designs to our clients. As 4MAT have been working for the recruitment industry for over 13 years, we have a thorough understanding of a user's journey on a site. As such, we use our market knowledge to make recommendations to clients in order to ensure their website not only looks good, but is profitable.
