Are you a technically strong, creative developer who likes to see the results of their work in action sooner rather than months away? Do you have good knowledge of how modern websites work (including mobile, social media integration, SEO, site architecture)?

4MAT are seeking to recruit a technically excellent ASP.NET/SQL web developer with an ability to think on their feet and come up with creative solutions to problems. 

You will be working on the company’s flagship ASP.NET product line, creating a wide variety of innovative client sites based on this product and helping to push this industry forwards. The role will also involve work on some challenging internal technical projects that are crucial to what we do. In the longer term, you will become part of the effort to upgrade our product line, with a likely move to a cloud host environment.

Working in a team of five developers, you will also be regularly working alongside design, marketing and SEO experts in crafting our solutions.  You will have a lot of responsibility from early on, working as primary developer on major client projects as well as helping to mentor other team members. The recruitment industry is a complex one with many interacting systems – a part of this role will be to work on integration with a variety of 3rd party systems, including social media platforms.


Skills and Experience

Candidate will possess a degree in computer science, web development or related and have at least 3 years' commercial experience (after graduation or placement).  In addition to this the following skills are required:

> ASP.NET using C# (v2/3.5+)
> Microsoft SQL 2005/2008 - Good T-SQL, Sql comparison tools and Sql Profiler
> Either client facing or internal requirements gathering experience
> An understanding of SQL performance issues
> IIS 6/7 configuration
> Good HTML and decent CSS understanding
> XML and use of web services / mashup concepts
> JavaScript and AJAX
> Understanding of SEO aspects of web development
> Awareness of the importance of site architecture
> Understanding of .NET desktop application and Windows service development

The following skills are not required but will be of benefit:
 
> Experience working with a complex CMS
> Experience with JQuery and Telerik toolsets
> Experience with major 3rd party APIs (Google, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
> LLBLGen or other OR Mapper
> Firebug and IE Developer toolbar
> Some mentoring and/or project leading experience
> Experience integrating between systems/applications
