James Saunders, Managing Director.


After completing a degree in English Literature at the University of Birmingham, James took time out to make it big as the drummer of folk fusion band Acoustic Groove.  The quest for fame lasted approximately six months after which James accepted an offer from Birmingham based IT outsourcing provider ITNET as a trainee account manager within the commercial account management team. 
 
During his time at ITNET James managed the sale of 'big ticket' (£1-£3m) outsourcing contracts and renewals in the financial business services sector, specifically the Credit Lyonnais and Iron Trades Insurance accounts and subsequently the transport business services sector, most notably the Transport for London account. 
 
After two and a half years he accepted a job with 4MAT as Senior Account Manager.  After trebling the sales target in his first 3 months, James was made Sales Director after 9 months and Managing Director after two years at the age of just 26.
 
In the 5 years that followed 4MAT’s turnover and profits doubled, it grew from 9 to 25 staff and the company's position as the UK's leading provider of web sites to the recruitment industry was cemented.  In April 2005 James co-managed the acquisition of 4MAT by the Silicon Valley Group. 
 
Outside of work James enjoys adding to his extensive record collection, foreign travel, team sports and occasional drumming.
