At 4MAT we happen to believe that mobile is the single biggest online growth area in the next few years.
Mobile internet speeds will increase and reduce in cost to the level where web browsing on the move will become the norm. People will become used to moving between fixed desktop machines, mobiles and potentially tablet devices and will expect a seamless experience on the site and services they use. For recruitment services, the chance to browse and apply for jobs on a private and secure device will make mobile a powerful alternative channel for job seekers. There is also the opportunity to view and apply to jobs just as soon as you receive a job alert email or sms on your mobile.
4MAT are currently investing high levels of research and development time into the opportunity that mobile affords our clients. Our first response to this exciting new market is to launch Pocket dV3.
Pocket dV3
Pocket dV3 is a mobile version of our flagship dotVacancy product. It enables candidates to easily browse jobs and apply online via most of the popular mobile handsets and gives recruiters an exciting new channel of communication. Importantly pocket dV3 is fully integrated with our clients’ web versions of dV3. This means that if a candidate applies for a job via their mobile, this is reflected in their job application history on the full version of the site and vice versa. Similarly, job baskets and search and job alert profiles are fully shared between the mobile and full versions of the site.
Native ‘Apps’
We believe that the “killer native app” for recruitment has yet to be discovered and we are determined to discover it. In the meantime, through our specialist third party mobile application developers, 4MAT have delivered several recruitment iPhone applications to our clients which mimic and augment the online recruitment experience that candidates would have via a website.
