The Aim

A partner since 2012, Orion Group consulted with 4MAT regarding the delivery of a comprehensive search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy. Orion Group wanted to climb the ranks for a variety of typical search phrases in a highly competitive industry: engineering and oil and gas jobs.

The Method

Focusing on the large number of visitors searching for ‘offshore jobs’, 4MAT created specific landing pages for the various subsectors of offshore jobs. These pages were filled with quality, SEO-optimised copy and pulled in relevant vacancies, attracting visitors who previously would not have found the site.

The Results

The landing page ‘offshore jobs’, combined with ‘oil rig jobs’, now account for 7% of all website visitor traffic. The webpages’ bounce rates are below 30%, demonstrating how only appropriate traffic is being delivered to the pages and that the automatic relevant vacancy additions are engaging candidates.

After the initial launch had bedded in, the following three-month period accounted for more than 12,000 new visitors who would not have previously found the website.
