My first week: Lauren James
Meet Lauren, the latest member of the 4MAT team. Currently working as an Account Manager on our Client Development team, she sat down to tell us about her first week at 4MAT and what she's looking forward to in the future.

Having been enjoying #LifeAt4MAT for just over three weeks now, I have been encouraged to get social and talk a little bit about my time so far, so I hope you enjoy my attempt at writing a blog! (It’s 2016 after all right!?)

I joined 4MAT on June 8th and the first few weeks have been super busy but very fun! I have joined our Client Development team as an Account Manager, having made the monumental (awful location joke) move to London from Cheltenham and my previous role where I was recruiting for Designers and Developers.

I applied to work at 4MAT, as having been exposed to the world of tech and design, I was intrigued and wanted to learn more. For me, what better than a company that has Tech and Design at the heart of our offering alongside the fact that we are within the recruitment market!? It was almost too good to be true!

When I met with James, I knew he was someone I would love to work with and after I met with some of the team, I was sold. I couldn’t wait to pack my bags and get to London.

Now I’m here, my day to day role varies largely which I love. So far, I’ve been out to client review meetings, pitch meetings, I’ve done some proposal writing, put together a few presentations and last week we were lucky enough to spend the morning doing some sales training with Jeff Grout!

The highlights for me so far have been learning all about our platform and what differentiates us from our competitors. To start with it was pretty challenging trying to remember everything and figure out how everything fits together but everyone has been so helpful and thankfully, it all (almost) makes sense now!

Moving forward, I can’t wait to get out and meet more of my clients and start developing relationships with them and new contacts. I can’t wait to be able to say that I helped my clients to (hopefully) win awards and have the best websites on the market!

My first few weeks couldn’t have gone any better. Everyone here is so lovely and its incredibly exciting working within such a highly skilled team who are genuinely like one big family.

For now, that’s enough blogging from me, and you never know – maybe I’ll get persuaded to write something else again soon so stay tuned...
