What clients winning awards means to us

Head of Marketing Services Warren Davidson reflects on a successful year at 4MAT.

No one can argue that last year was a fantastic year for everyone at 4MAT. The number of awards our clients either picked up or were shortlisted for was not insignificant – the last count stood at about 17 finalists and 5 wins, including the coveted Best Recruitment Website at the MARA 2014 awards.

2015 is off to a strong start too – the Online Recruitment (Onrec) Awards shortlist includes 12 4MAT clients up for 20 awards in total – we’re delighted for all the clients that’ve been nominated.

As a recruitment marketing agency, the success of our clients is a barometer for our own performance. Awards are a sign that a recruitment agency is delivering the needs of its clients and candidates to a high standard – and this is becoming increasingly difficult without a robust marketing plan encompassing all areas of business. If our clients are taking home awards for having the best website, the most innovative marketing campaign, the best social media strategy, or any other recruitment award, then it’s a sign that we’ve done our bit, no matter how big or small.

It’s not enough to simply expect a striking new website to attract candidates and build trust with clients. How are you going to convey your brand message? Is your presence on social media generating a return and driving quality traffic to your website? Have you got a coordinated inbound marketing campaign and someone to actively measure its effectiveness?

These are just some of the questions that any recruitment agency or in-house resourcing team need to answer to have the best chance of attracting the talent clients require. And they are questions we help our clients answer – it’s the consultative approach that works best.

We’ll be doing all we can in 2015 to keep the momentum up and reaffirm our status as the UK’s leading recruitment marketing agency. I’m excited to say our core product is about to receive a large update – once launched, we’ll be revealing a lot more.

In all the talk about awards, I forgot to mention ourselves. In 2014, we took home the APSCo Affiliate Member of the Year award – we were runners up in 2013 so it was with immense pride we took it home the year after and we’ll look to defend it in 2015 by offering all our clients thought leadership, value and quality service delivery.
