Vue Entertainment previously offered candidates a basic brochure careers website attached to the main company website. It was difficult to update and all vacancies were served via their ATS platform with little branding to accurately represent Vue as a great place to work. Vue Entertainment wanted a website that would reflect their employees and provide an insight into life working with them.
Vue wanted to move away from their reliance on job boards, in order to drive down cost-of-hire. The website needed to be able to be fully managed by the recruitment team. It also needed to be responsive to cater for their target audience. An internal careers website was also needed to replace an outdated intranet offering.
Lastly, Vue Entertainment required the careers website to form part of a wider, offline marketing campaign delivered through posters, on-screen adverts and other collateral in their cinemas across the UK.
To accommodate for Vue Entertainment’s desire to demonstrate their fun personality, a bold, striking design was delivered for maximum visual impact. Employees are put front and centre of the website, while videos have been introduced to give visitors a clearer understanding of Vue, its roles on offer and company culture.
Targeted banners provide urgent or immediate support to local cinemas, allowing prospective candidates to land directly on the job. Dedicated pages outlining Vue as an employer of choice are strategically located to maintain candidate interest and drive conversions. Genuine employee feedback for a variety of roles give true insight into Vue’s employee value proposition (EVP).
Since launching in November 2014, Vue Entertainment has received a 70% increase in visitor traffic compared to their previous careers website. Key engagement indicators including visitors’ time on site and number of pages viewed have increased. All vacancies are fully searchable in Google and over 60% of visitors now land directly on a vacancy via Google or Indeed.
Due to the success of the careers website, Vue’s local cinemas no longer have to liaise with the central resourcing team to request job board advertising. The higher-turnover and seasonal recruitment needs are fully catered for by the number of applications through the website.
